Silent Student’s Powerful Response

During my first semester of college, there was a girl in one of my classes who never spoke. Whenever the professor asked her a question, she remained completely silent.

Most students assumed she was shy, but as the weeks passed, the teacher grew increasingly frustrated. He believed she was deliberately ignoring him.

One day, after asking her a question and receiving no response, the teacher lost his temper. In front of the entire class, he shouted, “Hey! Didn’t anyone teach you how to speak?”

Without saying a word, the girl calmly stood up, walked to the whiteboard, took the marker, and wrote: “I am mute, you fool.” The classroom fell silent as the teacher realized his mistake.
