My Husband Finally Solved the Problem of His Overstaying Sister..

My sister-in-law had a habit of showing up for a weekend visit and then staying for weeks. During her stay, she would leave her belongings scattered around the house, avoid helping with chores, and always eat the best food from the fridge without asking. Although her behavior frustrated me, I stayed quiet because she was my husband’s beloved sister.

As the weeks passed, the extra work and lack of respect became exhausting. I found myself constantly cleaning up after her, cooking more meals, and sacrificing my comfort in my own home. Still, I didn’t want to create family conflict, so I kept my feelings to myself.

One evening, I was standing at the sink washing dishes while my husband and his sister relaxed on the couch watching a movie. I assumed her visit would continue indefinitely, just like all the others. Then, without warning, my husband stretched, looked at his sister, and calmly made an announcement.

“Hey sis, we’re leaving early tomorrow morning. Your train leaves in two hours. I’ve already booked a taxi—it’ll be here in an hour and a half, giving you enough time to pack. Say hi to Mom for us.” For the first time, someone had set a clear boundary, and I couldn’t help but smile as his sister realized her extended vacation was officially over.
