When a $10K Lottery Win Turned Into a Prank

A guy from my old job gave me a lottery ticket, and when I scratched it, it showed a $10,000 win. My heart started pounding. Later, he stopped by and asked if I had scratched it yet, and I panicked and told him no.

After he left, I kept staring at the ticket, already planning to tell him it wasn’t a winner the next time I saw him. Something felt off, so I flipped it over to read how to redeem the prize.

That’s when I noticed it was actually a prank ticket.

I was instantly relieved I’d checked before he came back — that could’ve been really embarrassing.
