My wife and I were waiting at the checkout in a supermarket when the woman in front of us finished paying for her groceries. As she walked toward the exit, the anti-theft alarm suddenly started beeping, and a security guard stopped her to check her shopping bag.
The woman patiently took out every item she had purchased to prove she hadn’t taken anything without paying. After everything was inspected, she tried walking through the detector again—but the alarm went off once more.
This happened several more times, leaving everyone confused. The guard couldn’t find anything suspicious, and the woman was becoming increasingly embarrassed as the alarm kept sounding every time she tried to leave.
Behind us stood two young girls watching the entire scene. Finally, one of them walked up to the guard and said with complete seriousness, “She probably ate something while she was shopping!” Her innocent explanation had everyone nearby trying not to laugh.
