For my husband’s 50th birthday, I surprised him with a trip to Hawaii, so when I turned 50 a year later, I hoped he might plan something special for me too. Early that morning, he excitedly told me there was a surprise waiting downstairs, so I ran down expecting something meaningful after 17 years of marriage. Instead, sitting in the middle of the room was an unwrapped vacuum cleaner.
