A Texas mother reportedly fired a single shot at an intruder who allegedly broke into her Edinburg home and continued trying to force his way into the locked bedroom where she and her children had taken shelter. Authorities said she repeatedly warned the man that she was armed, but he allegedly continued trying to enter, prompting her to fire through the closed door and strike him in the arm. Deputies later found 36-year-old Carlos Garcia wounded in a nearby field, and after hospital treatment, he was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation with intent.
