The Stepmom Who Left Me Everything..

When my dad died, he left nothing to my stepmom, and my family laughed as she became homeless. I took her into my home despite my sister warning me I would regret it. Five months later, my stepmom passed away, and while clearing her closet, I found a red box with my initials on it. Inside were property deeds she had secretly kept for 16 years—a house, land, and other assets. Then my sister called and told me to get to the lawyer’s office immediately. There, my siblings and I learned that my stepmom had left everything to me. She had also written a letter explaining that she could have lived comfortably alone, but when I opened my home to her, she realized she wanted to spend her final days surrounded by love instead of loneliness. She thanked me for giving her comfort and happiness and said everything she owned was now mine, reminding me that kindness always comes back.
