I’m a 35-year-old woman married to my 40-year-old husband, who was once my greatest source of love, comfort, and security. We shared a deep connection built on trust, kindness, and mutual care, but lately, his behavior has changed dramatically, leaving me confused and heartbroken. The incident that hurt me most happened when I told him that a former classmate had been seriously injured in a horrific car accident. Instead of showing concern or compassion, he coldly dismissed the news, saying he barely knew her and that it didn’t concern him. I was stunned by his lack of empathy and couldn’t understand how someone who once cared so deeply about others could become so indifferent. I still love him, but his alarming change in behavior is making me question everything about our relationship. I’m afraid to confront him because I don’t want to trigger a huge argument, yet I can no longer ignore the emotional distance between us. Should I speak to him openly about my concerns, seek professional therapy, or consider whether something deeper is causing this sudden change? I desperately want to understand what happened to the man I married and find a way to restore the love and connection we once shared.
