My Boss Turned Me Into His Personal Assistant, So I Reported Him to HR..

I’ve worked as a marketing coordinator for two years, but my boss gradually started treating me like his personal assistant, asking me to grab coffee, pick up his dry cleaning, take his dog to the vet, and collect his kids from school. I agreed because I was new and wanted to be helpful, but last month, I finally refused because I had actual deadlines to meet. He looked offended and told me, “I don’t pay you to say no.” That night, I gathered screenshots, dates, and records of every personal errand he had assigned me and sent them to HR, asking whether these tasks were part of my role. The next morning, my boss confronted me after HR contacted him, calling it a misunderstanding and claiming he thought I enjoyed helping him. Now he barely speaks to me, my coworkers act like nothing happened, and HR has been investigating for two weeks without giving me an update. I’m beginning to wonder whether reporting him was the right decision or whether I’ve made my work life harder. Part of me wants to wait and see what happens, while the other part wants to start looking for another job before things get worse. Has anyone experienced something similar? Did things eventually improve, or was leaving the best option?
